SUMMARY:Camel Classic Trial - 2nd Dec 2018
DESCRIPTION:The Camel Classic Road Trial first ran in 1983 (called the Octo for the first two years) thanks to two new trialers Hans Viertel and Pete Allen. The event flourished every year and soon became a round of the Chester Motor Club Trials Championship and later ACTC and ASWMC Championship rounds. The original organising team of Hans and Pete were still running the event 31 years later in 2014. \nSadly Hans suddenly passed away in 2015 which was a huge loss to Camel Vale Motor Club and the trialling community. Hans was described by many as a true gentlemen and he is greatly missed by all. He really was totally immersed in trials; be it as a competitor\, marshall or organising the Camel Classic in December every year. We hope his memory can live on in this event for many years to come. \nAgain this year the Camel Classic will be run as a dual permit event so that non-championship competitors may enter under the Clubmans permit and will not be required to produce a Competition Licence. \nFor the first time ever in 2015 we invited motocycle solo’s and outfits to enter the trial. DESCRIPTION:We will be running an ASWMC Championship Autosolo on Sunday 21 October\, at Perranporth Airfield.  This will be the penultimate autosolo for 2018\, with the last event running on 18 November.  If you haven’t competed in an autosolo yet\, the format for these is to drive around a number of cones in the direction set out by the Clerk of the Course.  You will be given a map to show you the correct route\, and for those of you who may want a little bit of help\, you are able to take a passenger with you to show you the way.  The tests are all driven in a forward direction so there is no reversing required. However\, for the learner drivers out there\, it is a brilliant way to learn how to handle your car. DESCRIPTION:Auto Solo Event at Perranporth Airfield on 22nd April 2018 \n“Come and join us as Perranporth Airfield on Sunday 22 April for our second Autosolo.  We cannot promise that the weather will be as good as it was for our first event (pictured: Kylie Allen (Citroen Saxo) and Wayne Grimshaw (Vauxhall Corsa) competing in the sunshine in March)\, but we can promise you a good days’s motorsport and a lot of fun.” \nFor those of you who are new to Autosolo’s\, the purpose of these events is to drive around a number of cones in the configuration laid out by the organisers. All competitors are provided with a diagram of the test\, which they attempt 4 times. The winner is the person who correctly completes all the tests\, without hitting a cone\, in the fastest possible time. For those of you who may need help\, you are allowed to have a passenger sit with you to guide you. These events are open to anyone aged 14 or over\, although those who are under 17 must have a passenger with them. However\, for the learner drivers out there\, it is a brilliant way to learn how to handle your car. DESCRIPTION:Auto Solo Event at Perranporth Airfield on 25th March 2018 \nPlease find attached our regulations for the Autosolo taking place on Sunday 25 March\, together with a couple of photo’s. \nCan you upload these on the website please with the following narrative: \n“Camel Vale Motor Club’s first autosolo of the year will take place on Sunday 25 March at Perranporth Airfield.  Pictured is Glenn Tucker in his Honda Civic who won the last Autosolo which took place in November 2017.   \nThis is the first of a series of autosolo’s taking place throughout 2018.  This event also forms part of the Club’s Autosolo / Autotest Championship with points awarded towards both the Autosolo Championship and the joint Autosolo / Autotest championship.  Also pictured is Jason Metters in his Mazda MX5 who won this championship in 2017. \nThis event is also a round of the ASWMC Autosolo Championship.  The ASWMC Autosolo Championship has changed slightly this year with more events taking place in the South West; with events being run by Camel Vale\, Truro and South Hams Motor Clubs.
