Wayne Grimshaw and Duncan Stephens had a titanic battle for the first overall win on a Camel Vale Autotest this year. Wayne with his Nova fresh from Clay Pigeon Sprint and on its way to Tregrehan Hill Climb and Duncan and his scrap 1100 Saxo were both trying extremely hard for the win knowing they were going to be closely matched. Five tests from end Wayne circled a cone the wrong way, then another penalty saw Duncan take the win by just 15seconds further to 18mins of competition for £25. Bernie Muir completed the podium in his little Suzuki Alto. Roger Hoskin won the rear wheel drive class by a very narrow 2seconds from daughter Jemma in the family MX5.

The day also saw the production car autotest which saw two youngsters Charlie Frost debut a Suzuki Swift and Toby Daniel compete in his first autotest aged 14. Passengers are required on a production car autotest helping keep the newbie drivers on the right route. Wayne Grimshaw Son in Law, matt Barnes, was sharing the Nova and took the overall win nearly making it the double. Both Toby and Charlie were exceptional driving their cars extremely hard.
