Novice Night
Tabletop Rally
There will be a Tabletop Rally organised by our club member Tony Wood, with assistance from David Biggs, plus James and Tracie Menear and Camel Vale Motor Club. The venue for the tabletop rally will be Lanivet Parish Community Hall, Lanivet. Bodmin. PL30 5HG. M/R 200 040060 On Friday 18th September 2026.
The event is meant as a fun evening for all rally enthusiasts, those wishing to learn more about road rallying or just brush up their navigating skills. The event is open to members of Camel Vale, Launceston & North Cornwall, Holsworthy, Plymouth plus Truro & District Motor Clubs.
The event will use ordnance survey maps 1:50,000 Landranger series. Map numbers 200 Newquay and Bodmin and 204 Truro and Falmouth. Both maps revised 2020 versions. If in doubt about your maps suitability please contact the organiser. Tel. Tony Wood 01209 200751. 07770 844701 or [email protected]
Entrants will ‘sign-on’ in the normal fashion between 19:00 and 19:15. Crews will be allocated a numbered table, a ‘start time’ and possibly some pre-route instructions such as black spots.
If a person wishes to enter the event on his/her own then that will be acceptable, but we advise teams of two would be preferable. Teams of more than two will not be accepted without specific permission from Tony Wood.
The entry fee will be £10:00 payable on the evening – cash. The entry fee is to cover the cost of hall hire and refreshments. Minimum number of crews is 8.

Names – Address – Phone number and email address, Motor Club membership
Plus, if you are Experts, Scouts, Novices or if this is your very first time.
The route will be defined by:- six figure map references – direction of approach/departure at controls – black spots – straight line graphs – spot heights – map features such as steep hills, buildings, location names, grid lines, other???
You will need maps 200 and 204, roamer, pencils, rubber as a minimum.
You may need a magnifier, degree protractor, torch/light, highlighters, pencil sharpener.
Crews will need to ‘report to controls’ which will within the hall. Times, or confirmation of attendance at controls will be recorded on a timecard by the control officials – James and Tracie Menear.
