Perranporth Airfield

With the remnants of storm Brian still blowing across the North Cornwall coastline, 10 [fool]hardy competitors turned up to Perranporth Airfield on Sunday 22 October for the October autosolo. Albeit a tad breezy(!!), the rain held off and we had a dry event yet again, with the sun even popping out from behind the clouds occasionally.
As usual, Nigel Barnett had devised some challenging and ingenuous tests for each competitor to attempt four times. With the odd wrong test and hit cones, competition was tight throughout the day, especially between the siblings of Tracey and Andy Knott. At the end of the day, Jason Metters took a commanding lead to win overall, very closely followed by Kylie Allen and Mark Crowle, both taking a class win. Having just beaten his sister, the novice award went to Andy Knott. However, the award for best entertainment has to go to the brilliant Ross Dodds who clearly demonstrated that the only way to drive a Subaru Legacy is sideways.
The next autosolo on 19 November is the last one for 2017, so hope to see you all there.
